Covexin 10 Vaccine

Covexin 10 is a vaccine for both sheep and cattle that can protect against 10 types of clostridial infection. Covexin 10 protects against Clostridium perfringens type, C. perfringens type B, C. perfringens type C, C. perfringens type D, C. chauvoei, C. novyi type B, C. septicum, C. tetani, C. sordellii and C. haemolyticum. The injection should be given to the herd or flock at least two weeks before risk events like breeding or parturition (or other times when there are increased chances). Animals that have not received the Covexin 10 vaccine before should be administered two doses. This should be done 4 – 6 weeks apart. Thereafter a single booster of the clostridial vaccine is to be administered at 6 to 12 month intervals. Covexin 10 is considered the gold standard vaccination against clostridial infection.

INDICATIONS: For the active immunisation of sheep and cattle against Clostridium perfringens types A, B, C and D, C. chauvoei, C. novyi, C. septicum, C. tetani, C. sordellii and C. haemolyticum.

WARNINGS: Only vaccinate healthy animals. It is not recommended that other vaccines be administered within 14 days before or after vaccination with COVEXIN 10.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE: SHAKE WELL BEFORE AND DURING USE.

ADMINISTRATION: Subcutaneous injection, preferably in the loose skin on the side of the neck.

DOSAGE: Subcutaneous injection.

Sheep and lambs over 2 weeks of age: Two injections of 1 ml each at an interval of 6 weeks, and a booster annually thereafter.

Cows and calves over 2 weeks of age: Two injections of 2 ml each at an interval of 6 weeks, and a booster annually thereafter.
